Coach Nick LoGalbo is entering his 16th season as the head boys’ basketball coach (19th total) at his alma mater Lane Tech High School in Chicago, Illinois. His background in basketball started when he played for Lane Tech as a four-year player. He then played four years of collegiate NCAA basketball at Benedictine University. He has been working at Lane Tech since graduating from college as an English teacher, basketball coach and now also serves as the school’s athletic director.
Nick works several camps during the off-season including the Duke University Basketball Camp and Snow Valley Basketball School.
Coach LoGalbo works with USA Basketball in several capacities. Most recently, he served as the head coach of the U21 team that competed at the FIBA Nation's League in Handon, China. Before that, he served on the coaching staff of the 2023 Nike Hoop Summit where team USA defeated the World Team with some of the top players in the country. He served as the head coach for the U18 3x3 men's and women's teams at the FIBA World Cup in both 2021 and 2022. He also serves as a court coach with the Junior National Team, as a lead clinician for their youth development clinics and regional camps, as a regional coordinator for USAB 3x3, and he has also spoken at USA Basketball’s Coaches Academy to other aspiring coaches from across the country.
Nick was awarded the “Rising Star” Award by Benedictine University for his work in education and philanthropy working to combat gun violence in Chicago. Coach LoGalbo has organized and facilitated several #ChicagoStandUp Rallies to raise awareness and empower youth to take a stand against gun violence.
Coach LoGalbo is passionate about the game and has identified that his purpose is to use that passion to serve others.
